the story
I've been at the intersection of science and art my entire life. I just didn't know it had a name until I was twelve.
Growing up, I was equally obsessed with science and art, not as separate interests but as the same curiosity expressed in two different ways. I asked for anatomy books and art supplies for birthdays and my sketchbooks were full of labelled anatomy drawings. When I was twelve, a career test returned medical illustration and art direction as my top two results. That moment felt as if the stars had aligned, and I knew immediately that this was my path.
I went on to study Neuroscience at Dominican University, publishing research, and building a strong graduate portfolio. I earned my Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization at the University of Illinois at Chicago, which provided me the technical foundation for this career.
Since graduating, I have spent over five years working at the intersection of science, design, and technology. As the Scientific Art Director + Producer at Biotech Animated, I lead the visual direction of MOA/MOD and biomolecular animations for biotech and pharmaceutical clients. I also contribute to the NIH funded Human Biomolecular Atlas Program at Indiana University, helping develop brand identity and design systems, providing expert consulting for VR applications, and creating award-winning animations.
What I love most about this work is that no two projects are ever the same. Every scientific story is unique, every audience is different, and every brief is a new puzzle worth solving. I pay attention to detail in a way my clients feel, and long-term relationships are my greatest measure of success.
When you work with me, you work directly with the person behind every decision. Someone who has been preparing for exactly this their entire life.
vision
The most important science in the world deserves visuals as radiant as the discoveries themselves
Science and design are not two separate disciplines. They are two expressions of the same curiosity and when they work together, your science becomes something extraordinary. Every project is an opportunity to give your science the visual language it deserves. Precise enough to be trusted, beautiful enough to be remembered, and strategic enough to make an impact.
This is what science x design™ means. Not just a tagline, but a way of working.
